Merry Christmas!

Christmas has always been one of my favorite holidays. I can recall, that as a little girl my favorite presents were the dolls. This year, I had my own little doll! It was so much fun opening her many presents and see her little face as she smiled or tried to reach out for her toys. The truth is, that just like mommy, she loves dolls! Christmas Eve was so much fun and full of food. We decided that we wanted to host the party. We were a total of six families and it couldn't of been better. For dinner we had the usual tamales and the hubby decided that he wanted to make a taquisa. I was incharge of the charro beans. I absolutly love to eat them but had no idea how to make them. That day in the morning I called my mom and she explained how to make them and so I did them as she said. The end result was great although I really though they were going to be a disaster! After dinner we had the karaoke going and we had a blast with it. with all the singing and laughing it felt that 1200 came by so soon. We all went into our living room and did the gift exchange followed by opening all the gifts we had for each other. Gigi got so many gifts that it took me a very long time to open them all! we were all amazed because even though she is only 2 months, she seemed to enjoy the night and opening her gifts. I received many gifts too but the best was my EVO phone that my love got for me.

On christmas morning we woke up and opened Santa's gifts for Gigi. My parents came over to make some pozole at my hose for luch and they helped me clean the house a little. At night, a bunch of Joe's friends showed up for dinner and some karaoke. I had some girl time with the wifes, drinking coffee and eating cookies while we talked and waited for the food to come out. It went better than I thought it would. I actually enjoyed their company.

Today Sunday, I was too lazy to go to mass. We stayed home all day and just layed around the house. I cooked lunch and then cleaned the livingroom, dinning room adn the kitchen. Now I just wait for my Joe to come home with some pizza.

It had been so long since I had a christmas so special that I could remember it in years. I know that this christmas will forever live in my memory. It was my first christmas as a mommy and my first christmas hosting at my house. I guess no gift will ever be better than being able to enjoy a christmas with my Alessandra and my Joe. They are the loves of my life.

Our New House

Well hello!

As the year comes to an end, I am reflecting on the many blessings this year has given us. One of those blessings has been our house. It's a three bedroom, two bath, dinning room, living room, beautiful kitchen, two car garage and a nice size backyard to see my little princess run around when the right time comes. We got the keys to our home right about two weeks before Gigi was able to be in our arms. I remember that all I could do was give orders because I was too big to stand alot, or carry stuff. Thanks to my husband and family along with some extra hands most thing got in oreder and I had some time to rest. Here are some pictures of our home. I am missing pictures of some areas but I'll post those later.

Gigi's room:

The princess has two closets full of clothes and those shoes you see have just about doubled! haha spoiled little girl! Oh and I know those seem like alot of pictures of me in her room but the one in the wall will go to my mom's as soon as she gets her new house. The 8x10 will go somewhere....just don't know where, and she keeps the one with mommy pregnant and mommy and daddy together.

Anyway lets go to the master bedroom now!

By the way, that old, almost black and white TV was replaced with a 40" plasma on black friday! Gotta love the hubby!

Finally, take a look at the guest bedroom:

That is all for now. I owe you all the outside, the kitchen, living room, dinning room, garage , and backyard! I'll try to get them to you as soon as all the christmas decorations come down. I hope you all enjoyed the small tour of our nest!

Thanksgiving

This year we hosted Thanksgiving at our house. I started baking pumpkin flans on wednesday because i really had no clue of what I was doing. The end result was OK. On thursday, we woke up around 10 am very well rested. Well, just as I walked into the kitchen to start my turkey, my princess decided she wanted mommy to take care of her. Daddy tried to hold her, but she just wouldn't stop crying. I decided the fastes way to get things done would be to feed her and put her to sleep myself, so I did. It was a fun day in my kitchen, but since it was my first time cooking for more than 4 people I wished my mom was there helping me. My mom decided to show up around 3pm when almost everything was done, but right on time to help me with Gigi as she woke up from her nap. Husband was running around shopping for last minute items. When he got home he held her while I got ready for our guests. Gigi and myself were ready by the time ours guests walked in the door. We all had dinner and talked for a while around the house. Around 9pm I was feeeding Gigi when she suddenly cried like she had never done before! I quickliy removed her bottle and assessed her, but everything seemed fine. I was so scared that after I couldn't find the reason for her painful cry, I wanted to cry. I changed her diaper and changed her clothes and continued her feeding as I spoke to her soflty. When I saw that she was calm again, I told my mom to take care of her while I changed to my pjs. When I walked into the bedroom I saw that she was all smiles with my mom. Instant relief. I had a headache and my mom offered to bring me tylenol and a tea. After drinking them, I fell asleep with my baby as the party went on outside without us. I know my family understands that I had to take care of the baby as we were all terrified with her loud, painful cry. The only thing I do regret is not taking a picture of my baby on her first Thanksgiving. I know that our night was cut short due to that incident but I'm forever going to miss that picture. Overall, the food was good and I'm thankful for my baby girl, husband, family, friend, home and my guests that night =).

Update

As we can see I did not keep up with my blog and its been a while since I was here. My life has once again changed since I had my baby on October 1, 2010. It was a beautiful baby girl named Alessandra Giselle. It's been a month and a week and there is not one day that passes by that I am not amazed by how fast she grows and changes day by day.

My pregnancy was a beautiful experience. So beautiful, that I miss it and look back on it as one of the best times of my life. The hardest part I have to say was with no doubt the first trimester when I had nausea from week 7 to the 14th! I remember thinking it was the only pregnancy I would have. things changed soon after I no longer experienced the nausea. My second and third trimester were wonderful. The bump was beautiful and I loved it! For the exeption of a couple of nights, I was able to sleep and breath through my pregnancy nights. My last day of work was a Wednesday and on Thursday, what was supposed to be my last day I stayed home because I felt tired and with some minor pains. When I went to my MD appointment that afternoon, she said I was in early labor and to go to the hospital that night. I had contractions when I arrived to the hospital, but to make them stronger and faster I was induced friday at 2:45am. By 10:45am we took took the decision that I needed a C-section due to lack of progress. At 11:36am I heard the most beautiful cry I've ever heard, it was her, the girl that would forever change my life.

Almost two weeks before Alessandra walked into our lifes, we signed for our new home. We had started the construction process back on May and hoping that our home would be ready by the August giving us plenty of time to close and move in before the baby got here. Well, things didn't go as weexpected and the house was not finished until August 30th and for one thing or the other we ended up closing on the house almost two weeks before the baby was born! Thanks to my wonderful husband and my loving mother we were able to move in and have everything in order (for the most part) by the time Gigi as we call Alesssandra, was here. Today I am still getting thing in order and finding place for what I want to keep and throwing what I want to donate or sell into boxes. On friday we got the $8,000 first time home buyer refund! What did we do? We went in search for our new bedroom set and we found it at the last furniture store we went to on Saturday. Tomorrow Monday I will be receiving it and I just can't wait! It's beautiful!

I would also like to include my cooking adventures on this blog. Up to now, I really havent't been the best cook because I really haven't tried. I know that my husband would love for me to cook for him instead of going out daily. I know that it would benefir our health along with our pockets haha. So starting tomorrow I will try to do new recepies and make my husband happy. The kitchen in our home has plenty of room and has a stove that I love with two ovens! I need to start using both at the same time.

I hope you will enjoy following my blog as you see Gigi grow, how I decorate my home, and my cooking adventures!

About me

I’m a 24 year old girl that lives somewhere in Texas. I’m married to a wonderful man, and we are expecting our first child sometime in October. Pregnancy up to now has been beautiful! I hate feeling nauseous all day most days, but just thinking of the reason I’m feeling this way, makes me smile. As of now, my life is all about getting ready for our baby. I try really hard to be healthy and EAT healthy although it’s hard at times. I think I have a Dr’s appointment next Saturday and we should see baby for the third time! I really can’t wait to see baby and hear a heart beat again! Nothing can compare to that moment up to now. I remember thinking for days after I heard the baby’s heart beat, “How can I have two hearts beating inside of me?” I don’t know, but I am truly amazed.
