Thanksgiving
This year we hosted Thanksgiving at our house. I started baking pumpkin flans on wednesday because i really had no clue of what I was doing. The end result was OK. On thursday, we woke up around 10 am very well rested. Well, just as I walked into the kitchen to start my turkey, my princess decided she wanted mommy to take care of her. Daddy tried to hold her, but she just wouldn't stop crying. I decided the fastes way to get things done would be to feed her and put her to sleep myself, so I did. It was a fun day in my kitchen, but since it was my first time cooking for more than 4 people I wished my mom was there helping me. My mom decided to show up around 3pm when almost everything was done, but right on time to help me with Gigi as she woke up from her nap. Husband was running around shopping for last minute items. When he got home he held her while I got ready for our guests. Gigi and myself were ready by the time ours guests walked in the door. We all had dinner and talked for a while around the house. Around 9pm I was feeeding Gigi when she suddenly cried like she had never done before! I quickliy removed her bottle and assessed her, but everything seemed fine. I was so scared that after I couldn't find the reason for her painful cry, I wanted to cry. I changed her diaper and changed her clothes and continued her feeding as I spoke to her soflty. When I saw that she was calm again, I told my mom to take care of her while I changed to my pjs. When I walked into the bedroom I saw that she was all smiles with my mom. Instant relief. I had a headache and my mom offered to bring me tylenol and a tea. After drinking them, I fell asleep with my baby as the party went on outside without us. I know my family understands that I had to take care of the baby as we were all terrified with her loud, painful cry. The only thing I do regret is not taking a picture of my baby on her first Thanksgiving. I know that our night was cut short due to that incident but I'm forever going to miss that picture. Overall, the food was good and I'm thankful for my baby girl, husband, family, friend, home and my guests that night =).
